  • What hotels are people staying at for this event?
There are multiple hotels within walking distance to the venue! Most of our guests will be looking to book at the Residence Inn by Marriott. We have block rates available for our NDF guests. Other available options next to the venue include: The Courtyard by Marriott, and Holiday Inn Murfreesboro.
  • How do I cross the street from my hotel to the venue?
Unfortunately there is no direct route to cross the street. You will have to walk roughly 10-15 minutes to the intersection and then double back along the venue road. There will be signs. Additionally we will have a shuttle going to and from the hotels.
  • Will there be food at the event?
Yes, we will have food trucks at the venue available for our guests. Additionally there are many options right across the street including but not limited to: Jonathan’s Grill, Rock N Roll Sushi, Chicken Salad Chick, Chilli’s Bar & Grill, Mimi’s Cafe, Buffalo Wild Wings, Genghis Grill, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, and MANY more!
  • What shoes should I wear?
We strongly suggest wearing shoes that are already broken in, so if you are thinking of getting a new pair, check out some of our sponsors NOW so you have time to break them in. We suggest shoes that fit well, leather boots will be common so will dance shoes - both work great. The biggest suggestion we have is nothing with solid rubber bottoms. We have had students suggest toms, dance shoes, walmart brand shoes with soft bottoms.
  • What else should I bring/pack?
Charging packs for your phone. Additionally you could bring sunscreen, a swimsuit, sunglasses, camera, and a notebook if you want to take notes in class. A backpack is a great idea to bring with you when you aren't in your room for the day, but it will need to be checked before entering the event. Cash for bartender tips and water bottles/etc.
  • Will there be parking?
There will be ample on site parking. Parking is free to Nashville Dance Fest guests because we hate paid parking as much as you do!
  • Can I bring my pet?
As much as we love our furry friends, and some not so furry, we unfortunately will not allow pets at Nashville Dance Fest.
  • What if I've never danced?
Great! No bad habits ;) That is NO problem! We all started somewhere and we are more than happy to help you get comfortable and confident. These events are a great place to meet other people who also started in a similar place of their journey. .
  • Do I need to have or bring a partner?
Not at all, we rotate during classes and have fill ins as needed. So come with or without your drinking buddies and friends and meet people here!
  • What level classes will this event have?
ALL LEVELS! This event will have something to offer to someone who has never been on a dance floor, doesn't own boots, and has never gotten to take a lesson or danced before. We will have classes that go over basics and breaking it down for brand new dancers. This event is also INCREDIBLE for advanced and high level competitors in the social and bar community. We will be deep diving with pros into concepts and fine tuning your dance as well as stunt, lift, and aerial classes.
  • What kind of competitions will Nashville Dance Fest have?
There will be two line dance competitions, one beginner and one advanced. There will also be a partner freestyle swing dance competition. Competitors will also be competing for one-of-a-kind Nashville Dance Fest custom buckles! Click here to learn more or register.
  • Where can I learn/see the line dances?
Starting December 1st you can find links to demos, step sheets, and more on our competition page, under the line dance section.
  • Are instructors allowed to compete?
All event staff will not be allowed to compete in any of the competitions. We want YOU to win!
  • Are lifts allowed?
Yes, but be safe and make sure both partners agree to doing the lifts. Every guest will sign a release form before the event to attend.
  • Is there a cost for the competition element?
There is a $10 cost per person to compete (but strictly partners will register and pay TOGETHER @ $20)
  • What if I would like to compete (or just social dance) but can't come to the workshops?
