If the participant is unable to attend the make-up date, we will provide a ticket credit that can be used for any future Kickstart Country events.
  • What if I've never danced?
Great! No bad habits ;) That is NO problem! We all started somewhere and we are more than happy to help you get comfortable and confident. These events are a great place to meet other people who also started in a similar place of their journey.

Not at all, we rotate during classes and have fill ins as needed. So come with or without your drinking buddies and friends and meet people here!

We will have classes that go over basics and breaking it down for brand new dancers. This event is also INCREDIBLE for advanced and high level competitors in the social and bar community. We will be deep diving with pros into concepts and fine tuning your dance as well as stunt, lift, and aerial classes.

  • What shoes should I wear?
We strongly suggest wearing shoes that are already broken in. We suggest shoes that fit well, leather boots will be common and so will dance shoes - both work great. The biggest suggestion we have is nothing with solid rubber bottoms. We have had students suggest Toms, dance shoes, Walmart brand shoes with soft bottoms.
  • Are lifts allowed?
Yes, but be safe and make sure both partners agree to doing the lifts. Every guest will sign a release form before the event to attend. If you drop a partner during a competition, you will be disqualified.
  • Are instructors allowed to compete?
All event staff will not be allowed to compete in any of the standard competitions. We want YOU to win! However, staff ARE allowed to compete in the the Honky Tonk World Championships where the dance level is ELITE. You better bring the heat to compete at this level.
  • What if I would like to compete (or just social dance) but can't come to the workshops?
No problem, we know not everyone can take the weekend off. If you are unable to join us for the day time workshops you can purchase a Concerts and Social Dancing pass that begins at 5pm, just in time to come watch the competitions.
